For the purpose of this thought experiment I will be assuming that clan wars is 7v7 at tiers 6-8-10 and you can bring any applicable tank in any number, I am also thinking of it as if it comes out tomorrow and not talking about map much.
here are my thoughts on what tanks will be in heavy use.
RU251- because it is the fastest tank in the game has good camo, decent DPM and a top of the line view range.
T32- it has a decent gun if you carry some prammo (which you will in cw) and that epic turret as well as being manuverable and mobile.
IS-3 defender- if it has an autoloader is will be for burst damage if it does not it will be the main line heavy.
T-44- it is agile and has good alpha.
Jagdpanther 2- tier X DPM and gun as well as good hull down and speed.
IS-6- it has fairly troll armor and can be used as a meatshield though probably will not be especially common.
indien panzer/ STB 1/ panther 2- will probably not be used because the RU-251 can do what they do just as well but may be used for long ranged high pen DPM.
I believe that there was a guide by WG for the best tanks to bring for tier 8 Tank Companies (8v8 i think). Most of the tanks were rated by maneuverability relative to armor.
1st: IS-3 for its armor, alpha, and maneuverability. (can be substituted with the Chinese tier 8 heavy, the 110)
2nd: AMX 50 100, the French tier 8 heavy with an autoloader. It is fast and has huge clip potential (relative to its tier)
3rd: T32 for its turret, gun depression, and good maneuverability
1st: Whatever the tier 8 Russian medium with a rear mounted turret is, it has good dpm
2nd: Pershing, turret and gun depression
3rd: T69, gun depression? and an autoloader
1. Not advised, but best one would be a Borsig with 150mm gun
For Blitz with the smaller maps, it might be closer to this:
1: IS-3, armor, alpha maneuverability
2: T32, turret, gun dep, maneuverability
3: KV-4, overall armor, decent 107mm, city fights, health (even then, it isn't particularly quick, and gold ammo will wreck it)
Caern- turret is good, but hull is poor and it has low alpha
Tiger 2 - good frontal armor when angled, side armor isn't great. Turret armor is pretty bad, gun is good. For its speed, you would be better off with a KV-4 and its armor
IS-6, armor is OK, it is fast, but the gun is terrible, even with gold ammo.
1: Pershing, turret armor, good mobility, gun stabilization, gold ammo, view range
2: STA-1, stupidly good gold ammo, good gun depression, good mobility, troll mantlet.
3: T-44, really good mobility, good alpha, trollish turret, troll hull.
T-44 is dodgy because it's armor isn't great, and gun depression, penetration and handling is pretty bad.
Type 59, armor is pretty troll, but acceleration isn't great, and gun handling and dpm are low.
Panther II + Centurion 1: not particularly quick, decent turrets. Armor isn't great
RU 251, armor is terrible, and the hp disadvantage
TDs (Blitz): - not advised, you have a lower overall hp pool (apart from using the AT15)
1: Jpanther II, speed+ gun +casemate
2: ISU, alpha + fear factor
2: Ferdinand, gun + OK armor
3: AT 15, gun arc+ angling+ dpm
If a TD gets circled, its teammates will have to help out, possibly allowing the enemy to push forwards.
To sum up my view of a hypothetical ideal blitz CW team:
At tier 6, the answer is simple:
Camp in a corner of the map and let them come to you.
Before the match, we sacrifice a herd of wild loltracktors. The luchs spots and does damage when it can. When they get within range, we focus our fire so that we can knock out a bunch of them at a time. The SU-100Ys can cover the KV-2's reloads (insert trollface)
If you let me Hulldown in a caern, I can win a 1 v 1 against any heavy at tier 8 ( only tiger is close to the gun). Caern is almost op: +s mobility, excellent gun, excellent turret armor, pretty rare so noobs don't know where to shoot
-s bad hull armor, alpha (no fear factor)
